A Cauldron Hung Over the Mediterranean: Notes on Lycia

The region south of a line drawn from Köyceğiz to Antalya, known today as the Teke Peninsula, was called LYCIA between the 7th and 8th centuries BC. This stretch of coast, which resembles a cauldron hung over the Mediterranean, lies between the regions of Caria and Pamphylia. Our findings on this ancient civilisation — studied through extensive source research under the headings of geography, origins, history, the Lycian League’s assembly and democracy, belief and society, art, architecture and coinage — grew a little with every project until they became a booklet.

Our notes, presented with their sources, are now published!
