Set on a slope in the centre of Kaş facing the Antiphellos ancient theatre, Limanağzı and the island of Meis, Oburus Bites is composed around the relationship between a dead-end street, a passage and a patio-terrace. The building's passage, defined by its eave, carries the public movement of the street into the restaurant's open areas and offers shade, view and climatic comfort together. Shaped by stone walls, steps and terraces, the patio blends with lemon, olive and fig trees and cacti to form a layered open space that allows personal experiences at different levels. The design aims for a permeable, human-scaled atmosphere that keeps changing with the Mediterranean light, wind and landscape.
